The Weekend Snow Briefing: Weekend Outlook for November 6

Friday, November 6, 2026

The snow story of the week is already on the ground at Wolf Creek, where 17 inches fell in the last 72 hours, and the weekend ahead adds a fresh round on top for the southern hills.

The Weekend Snow Briefing puts all 34 Colorado ski areas on one scoreboard: what fell, what is sitting on the ground, and what is expected next. Every hill gets the same size row, from the big destination resorts down to the town rope tows, and the numbers below are the latest the pipeline pulled, each one labeled by its source.

Loveland leads the outlook at 0.3 to 0.5 inches expected through the weekend. Behind it come Arapahoe Basin at 0.1 to 0.3 inches, Echo Mountain at 0.1 to 0.3 inches, and Breckenridge at 0 inches. Breckenridge, Vail, Keystone, and Copper Mountain sit this round out at zero in the current forecast. Call it a base building weekend rather than a powder weekend. The totals are small everywhere, and Monday's verdict will check what actually stuck.

SNOTEL stations read 27 inches on the ground near Silverton, 20 inches on the ground near Wolf Creek, and 12 inches on the ground near Aspen Highlands. The deepest reported bases sit at Wolf Creek at 26 inches, Arapahoe Basin at 18 inches, and Monarch at 13 inches. 9 of the 34 hills are posting snow reports so far, and the rest join in as their seasons open.

How to read this table. New snow and base figures are reported by the resorts themselves, and new snow shows the last 72 hours where a resort breaks it out, otherwise the past seven days. Snow on the ground comes from SNOTEL stations near each hill, run by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and a hill shows no reading when no station reports for it. Expected snowfall is a National Weather Service estimate for the next four days, pulled Friday, November 6, and it will move as the forecast updates. When a hill has not started reporting, the table says so rather than guessing.

See you Monday with the verdict.
